I really liked this blog. It gave me a new perspective. I really liked your closing pragraph that was really good. I agree that the freedom to be anything you want is the best kind of freedom, and that is definatly is a chracteristic of American society, being anything you want to be. I never looked at it that way though.

I have a hard time being away form the coast too. Its weird knowing theres no ocean around. I'm not much of a surfer though. I tried it for awhile. I lived in Northern California, Humboldt County, and the water is waaaay too cold for me. Plus i'm not totally down with the sharks.

Kudos on the running. It takes a special breed, to be a runner. I did cross-country for four years, and even though I wasn't terrible at it, I had a love hate realtionship with it. I liked the sense of accomplishment, but I hated every moment of it! Everyday, I was like "why do I do this Its not fun!" But I every year I would do it again. Thats cool that your brother goes to Humboldt! Thats where I'm from, and my triplet sisters are going there.
